A Bit of Relaxation
Yesterday I spent the day at the Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth using the spa and leisure club with my sister and her friend and it was great.
There weren’t many people there and I got exclusive use of the gym for all but the last 5 minutes of my workout.
With a great view from the treadmill – Bournemouth Beach and Pier is just off to the left.
The I used the swimming pool, although personally you cannot really swim in the pool as it’s not big enough. I proved this by pushing off the wall on one side as I would when I normally swim with my club and reaching the other side before I would take my fist stroke. So I floated around instead.
Then I got exclusive use of the Jacuzzi and the steam room (not a fan of saunas) before we had lunch.
My sister and her friend had already been in for their massage and facial and mine was booked in for after lunch. It was lovely. I love the relaxing music they have on in these places, I should have asked about the CD, but had forgotten by the end. I had a back, neck and shoulder massage followed by a facial and it felt good. Very different from the sports therapy treatment I’ve been having for the last year or so. I could have stayed there all day and not moved.
I know spa days are supposed to be a time for relaxation but after returning from a holiday and knowing you have to go back to work the following day I found it very difficult to relax.
Plus I left my phone at home! I didn’t realise until I got there, which was good as I was paranoid all the way home about breaking down. This made me realise how much I depend on my phone, which is quite sad, but I really cannot leave home with out it!
